My favorite content

A thought that I continue to come back to over the past 5 years is that we are the sum of the 5 people we spend the most time with. As a digital nomad, I am often not in the company of the same people consistency; I spend a lot of time listening to podcasts and reading. And, I have to say, I hang out with some pretty amazing thought leaders.

Podcasts

Podcasts are my go to when I need inspiration, an aid for personal growth, or if I’m feeling numb. Below are some of my favorites, which I  revisit often.

Health & nutrition:

Joe Rogan and Dr. Rhonda Patrick – episdoe #1701

  • I like Dr. Rhonda because she is a Ph.D. in biomedical science and expert on nutritional health. I’ve learned some amazing tips from her, especially relating to women’s health. (She is the reason I became a sauna lover.)

Huberman Lab – How to enhance your gut microbiome for brain and overall health

  • Huberman is a Ph.D., neuroscientist, and tenured Professor at Standford. I love his episodes, because I leave with actioanble notes to follow up on.

Lifestyle and business:

Oprah and Marie Forleo – Everything is figureoutable

  • First of all, Oprah is my second mother – she helped raise me. I love this episode because it’s a light reminder that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Marie is also an amazing speaker.

Tim Ferriss and Jerry Colonna: How to reboot yourself – episode #554

  • This podcast came into my life exactly when I needed it: I was struggling wtih deciding if I wanted to go back into the corporate world, or continue to try to build my own business.

Personal growth:

Oprah and Shefali Tsabary: The awakened family

  • This episode reminded me that we have lost the essence of joy, which I believe children are here to remind us of.

Oprah and Byron Katie: Set yourself free

  • Byron Katie is a legend when it comes to personal work. I highly recommend diving into her work.

Oprah and Eckhart Tolle: A New Earth — Awaking to your life’s purpose

  • Oprah and Eckhart dive into each chapter of this book together. The topics are heavy, and you have to be ready for them to fully comprehend. I believe everyone should read this book.

The Goop and Jay Shetty: What happens when you spend time with yourself?

  • This is short, sweet, and thought provoking. The deeper I get into meditation, the more I appreciate Buddhist thought leaders.

Relationships:

Oprah and Brene Brown: The anatomy of trust

Oprah and Brene Brown: Atlas of the heart

  • I am a huge fan of Brene’s work on vulnerability; she is a writer in the “self-help” caetgory that uses data, research, and studies.

Oprah, Gary Zukav, Linda Francis: Spiritual partnerships

  • Here is your teaser, “Spiritual partners want to know where the winds come from. Friends don’t want to rock the boat. Spiritual partners love to swim.”

Huberman Lab: The science of love, desire, and attachment

  • More Huberman, because I love looking at the quantitative side of love.

Email subsriptions

Favorite journaling prompts

I love Jung Pueblo’s Substack, and newsletter, as journal prompts. His words always resonate, and help me start the day with clarity, connection, and a calm attitude.

I have been in love with Tim Ferriss ever since I listened to this podcast with Michael Pollan. From there, I became a ravenous consumer of all things Tim; I love his weekly newsletter “5-Bullet Friday” because it’s easy to digest, includes content that he is currently reading, and offers a poem, quote, or passage that I use as part of my journaling prompt every Friday.

Favorite news/culture subscriptions

I am guilty of over-subscribing to newsletters, which has helped me whittle down my favorites. My mornings consists of meditation, journaling, and then reading the news from my very own email inbox, without scouting the interwebs.
